Your Guide to Salvation

Looking for Answers?

What is Salvation?

Salvation is deliverance from sin.
The sin that separates me from God.
The sin that binds me (Rom 6:14)
Salvation secures my place in heaven.

What is Sin?

Sin is the transgression of God’s Law
I Sin every day in thought, word and dead.

The Bible says:

“All have sinned, and come short of the Glory of God’s” (Rom 3:23)

“The wages of sin is death” (Rom 6:23)

Eternal death means separation from God in the lake of fire –
for ALL ETERNITY (Rev 20:14-15)

How Does God Provide salvation?

God sent His Son into the world as a babe. Christ lived a sinless life, was perfect among men, and suffered and died on the cross as He took the punishment for your sin and mine.

On the third day, He rose from the grave to show His power over death. He ascended to the right hand of the Father in heaven.

The Lord Jesus is now preparing a home in heaven for all who put their trust in Him
This is the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Rom 1:16)

“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12)

How Can I Be Saved?

First, God convicts me of my sin.
Second, there must be repentance towards God.
Then, there must be simple faith in Jesus Christ
The Bible Says :
“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out” Acts (3:19)

I must realize that I am lost before I can be saved.
“For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost (Luke 19:10)

“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repetance” (2 Peter 3:9)

CAN I BE SURE

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the world of God.” (Rom 10:17)

God cannot lie, He always keeps His promises.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16)

Faith Takes God at His Word

“He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the son of God hath no life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may KNOW that ye HAVE eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God” (1 John 5:12-13)

MAKE IT PERSONAL

First Step
Admit to God that you are a lost sinner unable to save yourself; that you are truly sorry for all you have done, and that you need to be saved.

Second Step
Thank God for sending His beloved Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to bear your sin on the cross, for” he bare our sins in his own body on the tree.” (1 Peter 2:24)

Third Step
Call upon the Lord to save you “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved”. Fourth Step

Receive the Gift of God.

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.”

Ask the Lord Jesus to come into your life and then believe His promise, and thank the Heavenly Father for making you a member of His family. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Rom 6:23)

God has plan for each one of His children, but until we are saved we cannot see His will fulfilled in our experience.

CAN I LOSE MY SALVATION?

  1. God will never disown His children.
“Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is” (1 John 3:2)

  2. We are Christ’s sheep.
“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me; and I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out my hand”.

  3. Nothing can separate us from God.
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? …For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Rom 8:35, 38-39)

Jesus said: ”him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.”

  4. The Holy Spirit permanently dwells in us
“After that ye heard…..the gospel of your salvation; ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, which is the earnest (guarantee) of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession.”

WHAT IF I SIN AFTER I’M SAVED?

  1. Salvation brings a change to my behaviour.
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2 Cor 5:17)

  2. I will become more conscious of sin
“I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man.”

  3. God chastens His disobedient children.
“For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth…Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous; nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.”

  4. Sin robs me of fellowship with God, but not of my salvation.
“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin, If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:7-9)

As a child of God if I confess and forsake my sin, then fellowship with my heavenly Father is restored.

HOW SHOULD I LIVE AS CHRISTIAN?

Now that I have received Christ as my Saviour and Lord, I belong to Christ.

“What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” (1 Cor. 6:19-20)

  1. Submit to God’s Word, read it and meditate upon it. In so doing, your life will be fruitful for God. Read Psalm 1.
  2. Never be ashamed to tell others what Christ has done for you. Jesus said: “Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.” (Matt 10:32)
  3. Seek the fellowship of other believers in the Lord Jesus. Find a Bible loving Church and obey the Lord’s command to be baptized by full immersion as a testimony of your identification with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection. Make the Great Commission your life’s work. “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo I am with you always, even unto the end of the World. Amen” (Matt 28:19-20)

Remember. You cannot do anything to merit salvation, nor can you do anything to maintain your salvation.

“For by Grace (undeserved favour) are ye saved trough fait; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” (Eph 1:8-10)

If you will accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour,

Please pray this prayer with all your heart:”Lord, I’m a sinner and If I died, I’m not 100% sure I’m going to heaven. I now repent of my sin and believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross in my place, for my sin, and was buried and rose again from the dead. With all my heart I turn from my sin and receive Jesus Christ as my personal saviour.

Thank you, Lord Amen.”
