Pastor Michael Bernard Cini

Migrated from Malta Australia with his family, in 1949. They landed in Sydney on 15th September 1949; Pastor was a 6 years old on that day. He went to Catholic schools most of his younger days. He was faithful Roman Catholic and served as an altar boy. He got married at the age 21 years old and became a father of five children, at the age of 29 years he became discontented with his Religion.

He was living in the Moorebank area when his first son Mark was attracted to a joy club, which was started by Gail Bywater. Next came Sunday School and he allowed Mark to attend. On the 1st Sunday school Anniversary, Peter Bywater invited Mr. Cini to a picnic, but he refused, however, Mrs. Cini went with the Children and had a good time.

In June 1973 Peter Bywater invited Pastor Cini to a Men’s Banquet and on that night was saved.

In 1979 he graduated from Spurgeon Baptist Bible Theological College and was invited to be a Pastor of Berean Baptist Church in Wollongong, which he accepted. There he and Mrs. Cini and the Church started Christian Day School and had a fruitful ministry for 2 ½ years.

In the years to follow he helped start two new churches and became Principal at Penrith with Pastor Goodman and the Church in their Christian School.

In 1984 the Pastor and his Wife were challenged a called become Missionaries to their homeland, and in 1985 they went to Malta and served there until 1993.

When they returned to Australia they helped Leumeah Baptist Church for a while and then being led started Grace Baptist Church, Currans Hill, 1994.

Pastor Cini started Grace Baptist Church with eight people including him and wife Rita.

The church saw two other pastors’ come and go and Pastor Cini continues to be their pastor. The Church was incorporated and then had to change its name to the Macarthur Baptist Church (MBC). We have fifty three in membership and average about 75% on Sundays.

The church by the Grace of God was able to purchase its own building and is located at Unit 1, 14-16 Exchange Pde Narellan, NSW 2567.

Pastor Cini now has an Assistant by the name of Pastor David Joya who has 1 child.

The church supports 10 missionaries and one evangelist.

The Lord is blessing the work with new people all the time. All glory to him.
